Required fields & Federation

Because of the federation/backlinks, we can't require fields from the backend, resulting in things like this:

How should we handle that? When a "required" field is missing, what should be shown to the user? Showing nothing looks like a "bug".

Here it's with a Circle without an owner, but it can happen on pretty much everything.
