User experience of requesting and granting permissions (to users)

In the context of developing a new specification for user-to-user permissions, once such a specification is available we will need to settle on a design, or on adaptations to the existing designs for controlling permissions requests generated by users.

Similarly, we will need to extend the existing module controls to support these new kinds of permissions.

Notes

We should revisit the subject of latency on these requests - for example if Alice is trying to access a resource under Bob's control which triggers a request, she may need to wait for some time before Bob is able to process her request and accept it. If this happens a lot during the early stages of release, it may create fatigue for the users.
