left pane content slightly too long

Left pane contains a pager - in my case with 7 pages. But each page is slightly longer than fitting to my window layout, resulting in needing to first scroll down and then click to next page - and for each page I need to scroll again.

I would expect a page to fit within my window layout - or if that is not possible then please drop the pager because then it is an annoyance not a help: Easier to simply scroll through all content instead!
