My own messages trigger the RAI event

It should not.

Whenever I post a message, when I switch channel, I see that the channel where I posted my message is in bold. I click on it, and nope: No new message, only mine.

Assigning to Xavier. As explained to @jbpasquier all my debugging so far suggested that the current RAI issues are on the frontend, related to Converse.js internals.

I'm happy to assist with debugging, and will of course fix any issues on the server side that come up. @XaviFP let me know if you need any help.

Do we have a track here to isolate this problem ? Cause it's on every users I know. I suppose that's not related to user's machine, do you agree ?

I'm working with the Converse.js folks on getting RAI stable and tested between Prosody<->Converse.js. My next task for that is tracked at #212 (closed).
