make the "email address" and "username" fields non case sensitive when creating a new user to avoid duplicates
I did several tests to understand why we had duplicates on the Space Coop EU community platform and I finally found the problem:
There is a unique key which is the email address of the user and his name but in fact, this unique key is case sensitive, so "katja@web-und-seo.de" and "Katja@web-und-seo.de)" are considered as 2 different users and so 2 accounts have been created... and it's the same for the username "katja" and "Katja" are considered as different.
What do you think about solving this problem by passing the email address and the name in non case sensitive? This way we won't have any more possible duplicates.
Can you make an estimate of this change? Is this considered a bug or an evolution (Should we ask our customers for funding)?
Thanks
