Newsletter component
What needs to be done
If you want to communicate with all the people that belong to your community, a newsletter component could be useful. Today we rely on a general circle (name "Info") where people are subscribed to at inscription time and where only admins can write. But that feels hacky.
Technical details
I would imagine three main features :
- An admin interface to let community admins write a message that will be sent by email to all the community members that have opt-in.
- An interface to let people opt-out/in easily for this newsletter (in their profile for example)
- A not too obstructive way to force newly invited user to choose either opt-in or opt-out to the newsletter. That could be presented on the authorization screen with the possibility to access the app but refuse to opt-out for the newsletter.
